Deleting Your Kidney Call App Account
What happens to your data if you delete your Kidney Call account – what’s removed, what’s kept, and why.
Applies to: Kidney Call App
How to delete your account
- Open the Kidney Call app and go to Account.
- Select Delete Account.
- Confirm your choice. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.
What gets deleted
Deleting your account removes your access to the Kidney Call app and the following, immediately and permanently:
- Your login credentials and access to the app
- Your profile (name, date of birth, and SSN as entered in the app)
- Any pending organ offer shown on your Home screen
- Your Pre-Transplant Questionnaire responses
- Any pending document upload requests
- Your message history with your Transplant Center, on your side of the conversation
What your Transplant Center retains
Your Transplant Center is your healthcare provider and is required to retain your medical record independently of the app. Deleting your Kidney Call app account does not delete your medical record. Specifically, your Transplant Center retains:
- Your patient information on file (name, date of birth, SSN, contact details)
- Your past message history with your Transplant Center – this becomes read-only and is no longer active
- A record of any organ offer you previously received, marked as cancelled
- Any Pre-Transplant Questionnaire responses you had already submitted before deleting your account
Why this data is kept: Your Transplant Center is a healthcare provider with its own recordkeeping obligations. Retaining your medical information ensures continuity of your care and compliance with applicable healthcare recordkeeping requirements, independent of whether you use the Kidney Call app.
Reconnecting after deletion
If you create a new account later using the same phone number and SSN your Transplant Center already has on file, your account will be recognized and you’ll be able to re-link with your Transplant Center. If you use different details, you’ll be treated as a new patient.
